State’s 2007 payroll numbers strong

Colorado’s seasonally adjusted figures for non-farm payroll were close to 2.35 million, up from 2.3 million in December 2006, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ December 2007 report released this month.
That puts Colorado on the list of 23 states with “statistically significant employment changes” from last year.

Job seekers confident about finding employment

Despite a troubled U.S. economy, 25 percent of job seekers believe they’ll find jobs within two months, according to Challenger, Gray and Christmas.
The firm surveyed 500 people during December and found that the overall confidence about the job market is higher than last year.
Only 16 percent were as confident in 2006.
