Unaffiliated voters must pick up primary mail-in ballots

Although Colorado maintains a closed primary, “unaffiliated” voters are allowed to select a party affiliation and vote either Republican or Democrat, said County Clerk and Recorder Bob Balink.
To receive a mail-in ballot, voters must visit the Centennial Hall Election office at 200 S. Cascade Ave. They will then choose a party affiliation and receive a ballot.
Unaffiliated voters also can visit early voting sites at Chapel Hills Mall or Citadel Mall or their assigned polling location on Election Day and declare a party affiliation. They will be issued a provisional ballot that will be counted with the official election results.
