Smiley’s Bakery and Café coming next month

Published July 14, 2008 by CSBJ Staff

Amy Graham has leased the space at 323 N. Tejon St., site of the former CatBird Seat café, which closed during November 2007.

Smiley’s Bakery and Café is scheduled to open mid-August, with 36 indoor seats. Graham formerly owned Amy’s Bakery and Café on the westside and is known for her homemade pies – blueberry sour cream and strawberry rhubarb – cheesecakes and fresh bread.

Graham said her shop will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., six days a week, but that she hasn’t decided which day she’ll be closed.

For breakfast, Smiley’s will offer Belgian waffles, muffins, eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries. Lunch will include salads, soups, lasagna and sandwiches.
