Maytag Aircraft Corp. of Colorado Springs has won a $14.7 million contract for operation and maintenance services of bulk fuel facilities to serve Air Force installations in New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
This is the company’s third contract award during 2008.
Doug Harris, director of business operations, said Maytag also has won two contracts with the Marine Corps to provide fuel and base operating support to seven locations in Japan as well as aircraft refueling services and air handling ground support to Camp Pendleton in southern California.
“The Air Force is now contracting for services formerly handled by airmen,” he said. “This is the first of four regional contracts we’re pursuing. We also have won four of six Air Force sites in Europe so far and have proposed on four more in the Pacific.”
