Property tax increase on the horizon?

During this afternoon’s State of the City address, Mayor Lionel Rivera said that Colorado Springs should consider shifting funding for public safety from sales tax revenue to “more stable” property tax revenue.

Vail Resorts to purchase Colorado Mountain Express

Vail Resorts Inc. has agreed to purchase Colorado Mountain Express from East West Resort Transportation Holdings LLC for $40.5 million.
Colorado Mountain Express offers ground transportation from Denver International Airport and Eagle County Airport to Vail, Aspen and Summit County. The vehicle fleet consists of about 250 vans and luxury SUVs.

Western states have second highest compensation costs

Employer costs for employee compensation in private industries in the Western region of the United States were $28.70 per hour during March.
Costs were highest in the Northeast at $30.56 per hour, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, and lowest in the South at $23.90 per hour.
