Sprint to end broadband direct service

Published June 3, 2008 by CSBJ Staff

In a letter to its customers in the Pikes Peak region, Sprint announced that its broadband direct service will be discontinued July 31.

Sprint has offered the service in the Springs for about eight years, but the letter said that recent Federal Communications Commission decisions have limited the access needed to operate the broadband direct service.

However, Sprint urged customers to move to Sprint mobile broadband wireless service, but warned that “additional equipment charges may apply.”
