City sees lowest drop in median prices

The Colorado Springs residential real estate market was one of three Colorado metropolitan areas highlighted in this week’s National Association of Realtors first quarter median home price report.
Prices locally for existing single-family homes were down 1.6 percent in the first quarter at $208,000.
The Denver metro area’s 10 counties, in contrast, saw a 6.6 percent decline to a median price of $223,500. Boulder’s prices declined by 4 percent to $355,700.
All three were above the national median price, which fell 7.7 percent for the quarter to $196,300.
On average, the median home price in the United States was down by 7.7 percent from last year, to $196,300. Statewide, prices fell 8.4 percent, to $117,200.
