Local park best in the west

Published April 30, 2008 by CSBJ Staff

Colorado Springs earned a mention in the 2008 Best of the West Travel Guide – not for the statuesque rock towers in Garden of the Gods, not even for the region’s sentinel mountain, Pikes Peak, but for Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

The park is Colorado’s newest state park, located off Highway 115.

For a cyber tour of the park, visit the park’s Web site.

Live, self-guided tours are also available. The park includes 20 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails.
