Musical fares for downtown restaurants

The 100 block of south Tejon Street will see a restaurant shakeup in the coming months.

Fujiyama Japanese restaurant and sushi bar at 28 S. Tejon St. #A will move two doors to the north, into the former Seabel’s space which is now vacant. Sonterra Grill owner Randy Price plans to open another Slayton’s barbecue location in Fujiyama’s space, which is next door to Sonterra.

Fujiyama owner Minji Suh said the Seabel’s location offers more space. The state has approved Fujiyama’s liquor license transfer and Suh said she expects the move to happen within a couple of months.

City officials said a hearing for a liquor license approval for Slayton’s is scheduled for Friday.

The original Slayton’s barbecue restaurant is located at 806 Space Center Drive, south of Rockrimmon Boulevard and Vindicator Drive.

went here with friend for lunch today. The food was good, it’s a small restaurant that’s in a strip mall so be prepared for that type of atmosphere. The sashimi platter looked like the best thing that was served. They have some very interesting rolls that are different then a lot of the places I have been lately. I would stay away from the Bento box I was not overly impressed. The teriyaki mackerel was great I had a bit of my friends. For a quick place to pick something up I would recommend this restaurant.
