Tricare seeks RFPs for new contracts
Published April 3, 2008 by CSBJ Staff
The Department of Defense is seeking requests for proposals for the third generation of Tricare contracts.
Tricare is the insurer that covers the military, veterans and their families.
The new contracts will offer stronger incentives for customer satisfaction, especially for network enrollees. These financial incentives are part of a new business approach called “pay for performance.”
The basic contract structure remains the same. There will still be three regions and three benefit options. The current managed care contractors are HealthNet Federal Services, Humana Military Healthcare Services and TriWest Healthcare Alliance.
