Colorado was ranked 10th on the list of states with the highest per–capita income in the United States for 2007, with annual personal income of $41,042.
In its March report, however, The Bureau of Economic Analysis listed the state 45th among the 50 states, based on its slow 3.9 percent income growth rate.
Nationwide, Connecticut again had the nation’s highest per–capita personal income, at $54,117. Mississippi had the lowest, at $28,845.
The Southwest, hit hard by the subprime lending crisis, saw a downturn in the per capita income growth category. Arizona ranked 50th in income growth and Nevada ranked 47th in the BEA survey.
