Manitou might get another liquor and wine store

Manitou Springs might get another liquor store.
Sharon Palmer has applied for an off-premise liquor sales license to sell liquor at 717 Manitou Ave., a space that was formerly occupied by half of Antique Emporium, which will still occupy a storefront next door at 719 Manitou Ave.
Palmer said the store, called Swirl, will sell high-end wines, beers and maybe scotch and that it would not be a typical liquor store. Manitou has one other liquor store, D&D Liquor at 1108 Manitou Avenue.
A public hearing about the proposed store is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 1 at Manitou Springs City Hall.
Palmer said she is a level-two sommelier and hopes to have regular wine tastings at the store and sell wine gift baskets.
