IRS seeks applicants for advocacy panel

The Internal Revenue Service and the Department of the Treasury are seeking applicants for the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.

The panel includes people from each state help guide IRS decisions.

Members facilitate taxpayer input and make recommendations to the IRS about customer-service issues.

To qualify as a panel member, applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to commit 300 to 500 hours during the year to the panel and pass a criminal background check.

To apply, call (888) 912-1227 to request a paper application or visit www.improveirs.org by April 30.
