Colorado Springs to receive grant to fight foreclosures

The Pikes Peak region could receive money to help prevent foreclosures and promote affordable housing.
The region is slated to receive a $116,404 grant that is funneled through the Westminster-based Colorado Rural Housing Development Corp. The money will be used primarily in Denver, but will also help expand its initiatives into Colorado Springs.
The CRHDC has counseled 425 struggling homeowners in the past two years, many of whom were able to stay in their homes because they took action early.
The CRHDC was one of many nonprofit and government organizations across the country that received grants. It also operates in urban communities through its affiliate, Colorado Housing Enterprises.
The organization’s office in Colorado Springs is located at 7 W. Bijou St., Suite 209.
