Downtown gets convenience store

Downtown Colorado Springs once again has a convenience store, Athan’s, at 32 E. Bijou St.
Owner Athan Loukakis opened the store Friday. The store sells sodas, cigarettes, snacks, aspirin, batteries and gum along with a few odds and ends such as envelopes and hand sanitizer.
Loukakis hopes to fill the downtown convenience store void after the Tejon Street Market closed last year and Hathaway’s Smoke Shop & Magazine Store closed in 2006.
