New program streams city council meetings, item by item
Published March 14, 2008 by CSBJ Staff
The City of Colorado Springs has created a program that allows its Web site visitors to click on past city council agenda items and watch taped segments from the council meeting.
Previously, site visitors could only access the entire taped meeting and could not select items they preferred to watch.
The program is called “Instant Items” and can be accessed by visiting SpringsGov.com and typing “instant items” into the search field.
To watch Instant Items, a site visitor must be using a P.C. and not a Macintosh computer, be using Internet Explorer and have Media Player 9 installed.
However, city officials are working to allow Instant Items to be accessed using Macintosh computers and other media programs.
