Grants destined for El Paso, Teller counties

The State Historic Fund has awarded 60 historic preservation grants totaling $7,124,311, and portions of that money will fund four El Paso County projects.
The Drennan Community School Building preservation project was awarded $199,736. Located in rural El Paso County, the building will be renovated for municipal use and will be fueled by green technology.
The Town of Green Mountain Falls received $41,598 for exterior restoration of the Green Mountain Falls gazebo.
The University of Colorado, at Colorado Springs was awarded $91,450 for a master plan and historical structure assessment for the Heller Estate, which was donated to UCCS in 1999.
The First Congregational Church of Colorado Springs was given a grant for $151,280 for exterior restoration.
The grants are part of the second competitive round of fiscal year 2008.
