COPPeR, Experience Springs win state grant

Two Colorado Springs organizations that promote tourism earned a matching grant of $15,000 from the Colorado Tourism Office.

Experience Colorado Springs at Pikes Peak, the convention and visitors’ bureau, and the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, or COPPeR, will use the shared grant money to enhance PeakRadar.com, a cultural activities calendar for the region.

Launched last spring, partly with state grant money, PeakRadar.com lists dance, art, theater, music, festival and sporting event information.

COPPeR will use this year’s grant money to upgrade searching information about hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.

There is no charge to list events on the Web site.
