Csintyan named chamber CEO

The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce has chosen Dave Csintyan as its new president and CEO.
Csintyan, who has been with the chamber since 2002 as president of business affairs, was named interim CEO after Will Temby left the job in August.
The chamber board of directors chose Csintyan after a national search.

January job cuts up

Planned workforce reductions announced by United States employers spiked 69 percent during January to 74,986, up from 44,416 during December.
It was the highest monthly total since August, when employers announced 79,459 job cuts.

Wal-Mart has made a $1 million donation to the Red Cross Society of China for disaster relief. Since late January, areas of southern China have been hit by the worst snowstorms in 50 years.
