File police reports online

Published January 3, 2008 by CSBJ Staff

The Colorado Springs Police Department now takes online reports for crimes that do not need police follow up – generally those that are required for insurance claims.

The online report form is on the City of Colorado Springs Web site.

Crimes can be reported online if they occurred within the City of Colorado Springs, if there is no suspect information and if the incident meets certain property crime criteria.

The person making the report must have a valid e-mail account, and once the report is reviewed, a free copy of it will be made available.

Police officials said the system has been tested during the past few months.
