Colorado SBA Director retiring

Patricia Barela Rivera, the state district director for the Small Business Administration, will retire from her post Jan. 3.
Region eight administrator Elton Ringsak said Ron Solberg, the Colorado Lead Business Development Specialist, will temporarily fill her position until a replacement is found.

Kaiser gives $16 million to fight obesity

Kaiser Permanente announced yesterday that it will give $16 million to support a statewide anti-obesity program.
Kaiser will disperse the money over five years to the nonprofit LiveWell Colorado, a public-private program to fight obesity in the state.

3rd annual small business conference for veterans

The Colorado Small Business Development Center and the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce will host the third annual Small Business Conference for Veterans next week.

Feed the Children coming Dec. 15

Feed the Children, a nationally known nonprofit organization, will deliver 2,000 boxes of food for families served by the El Paso County Department of Human Services Saturday, Dec.15.
Food will be distributed between 9 a.m. and noon at the Department of Human Services, 105 N. Spruce St.
