County to consider budget cuts
Published November 28, 2007 by CSBJ Staff
The El Paso County Board of Commissioners will discuss proposed mandates and balancing options to the county’s revised 2008 budget when it meets Thursday.
Earlier this month, the board voted to furlough more than 100 county employees during the weeks of Christmas and Thanksgiving after a shortfall forced it to shave $4.1 million to balance its books.
If cuts are needed to the 2008 budget, they must be made before Dec. 10 when commissioners will adopt a final budget.
The meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 29 at 27 E. Vermijo Ave.
