Contest seeks oldest appliances

Published October 15, 2007 by CSBJ Staff

If you’ve had it with your old, outdated washing machine, refrigerator or toaster and you’re looking to get rid of it, this may be your chance.

APWagner.com, an appliance parts Web site, is conducting the Oldest Appliance Contest.

Contestants are asked to send in a two-minute video of themselves with their old appliances – whether they work or not – to www.apwagner.com/APWcontest/.

Video submissions will be judged on originality, creativity and age of the appliances.

Winners in six categories will be chosen. The owner of the overall oldest appliance will receive three new Whirlpool appliances and $1,000.

The deadline to enter is Jan. 31. Winners will be announced in April.
