The Colorado chapter of the American Planning Association recognized two Colorado Springs projects at its annual conference, held Oct. 4-6 in Colorado Springs.
The association recognized the Imagine Downtown master plan which won a Community Engagement Award because of the extensive public input that was incorporated into the plan and the progress it’s made. The voter approval of a five mill tax increase contributed to its success.
The association also recognized a traffic calming project on south Tejon Street, which judges said illustrated the effectiveness of the “road dieting” technique.
