Yes, the Bijou Street bridge is open

Despite what a number of detour signs around the downtown area say, the Bijou Street bridge is open.
The bridge opened this week, but construction crews have not yet gotten to the task of removing old detour signs, said Colorado Springs Metro Interstate Expansion program spokesman Kyle Troxel.
The signs should be removed by the end of the month, he said.
Traffic counts on the bridge were lower than expected Monday, possibly because of confusion from detour signs, but most likely because drivers forgot the bridge had opened, Troxel said.
