Looking out my window here at the CSBJ you can see the smoke and flames of a wildfire near the Cog railroad in Manitou Springs. Local broadcast media is relating that cars are being towed. Manitou’s fire department tells us there are no forced evacuations at this time.

Bijou bridge opening, downtown parking free

The Bijou Street Bridge will re-open Oct. 1, and the city is offering a week of free downtown parking to celebrate the event.
Downtown parking meters will be free Monday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 6.

Final GDP report shows 3.8 percent increase in 2Q

Real gross domestic product – the output of goods and services produced by U.S. labor and property – increased at an annual rate of 3.8 percent during the second quarter, according to final estimates from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
